| goninnygo | Behind in position but a good hand makes it seem like a full steam ahead situation...Break up the double run and load the crib? Keep the run but stall the crib? Something else? |

Solid submission today from ninny. Do we want a 16 pt hand or a 6 pt hand + 10 crib? I guess I'm leaving myself the flexibility if we whiff this cut this morning. Looking forward to seeing the viewpoints today.

Looking for pictures or the bingo cuts of aces or fours-not enamored with throwing 4-10 to my own crib while holding 2 aces-we have the pegging option of sacrificing points to the pone to try to get our aces in for 3 or 4 |

Potential for twelve still. 2-3 One of the highest crib producers. Pegging on aces could be advantageous. We would like to incur sixteen or more points here. Opponent also short here. dec |

I’m all in with the 23 toss |

Tossing 2-3 is a no brainer for me - high value. AA23 is closed on one end with the aces. |

In the Midwest this is nicknamed the Mick Michaelis toss, a Hall of Fame player who passed away before I started in the ACC. No Double-Run Hypnosis here... |

Along with the 45677J, this was Ras's favorite puzzle for newbies. And of course when you need a cut, here's the useless 8. goninnygo says: I imagine Ras would've said toss the 77? If so that would be a good one for today's cut. Eolus619 says: goninnygo hello..yes on the 7/7

An A, 2, 3, or 4 cut helps whether we break up the double run or not. With a net total of eight points either way, I’d rather toss myself 2-3 than a 10-4 holding two A’s. Add in the pegging value of the double As and this is an enticing hold. |

I can't add anything to what everyone has already said. Everything has been covered. Position ,pone postion, pegging hand and crib. |

When I played it I cut a Jack which was way more fun (and less stressful) than the 8 here. |

Had to take a chance on a 10 card but. I'll lead the 4 for fun!

Today Ras is speaking to us with his well known axiom..”don’t be seduced by double run hypnosis”
https://www.cribbage.org/NewSite/tips/rasmussen9.asp and 2/3 is on his list of “approved “ dealer discards when sacrificing points https://vashoncribbage.weebly.com/uploads/5/6/7/4/56741021/chart_11.pdf |

I like the Michaelis toss today. Hand potential still viable and major potential for a productive crib with the 2-3 discard. |
